Reaction Challenge - Complete Guide

Learn how to play the Reaction Challenge game and improve your reflex score in 20 seconds

Reaction Challenge is a free browser game that uses your camera and finger detection. Your live camera feed is the background; cat images appear on screen for a short time. Point your finger at the screen and the camera detects your finger—when your finger "touches" a cat, you score. You have 20 seconds to hit as many cats as possible. Enter your name before starting for the leaderboard (coming soon).

The game runs entirely in your browser. Allow camera access when prompted. No signup is required.

How to Play

  1. Step 1: Enter your name

On the Reaction Challenge page, type your name in the "Your name" field. This will be used for the leaderboard when we add it. You can leave it blank to play as "Player".

  2. Step 2: Start the game

Click "Start Game". Allow camera access if asked. Your live camera view becomes the background; a 20-second countdown starts and cat images appear at random positions.

  3. Step 3: Tap the cats with your finger

Point your finger at the screen (in view of the camera). The game detects your finger and shows a red dot. Move your finger so it overlaps a cat before the cat disappears to score one point. Each cat is visible for about 1–2 seconds. Your score and time left are shown at the top.

  4. Step 4: See your result

When the 20 seconds are over, you see your total hits. Use "Play Again" to return to the name screen and start another round.

Tips for a higher score

  • Make sure your hand and finger are well lit and visible to the camera.
  • Point directly at the screen so the finger tracker aligns with the cats.
  • Tap as soon as a cat appears to avoid missing it before it disappears.

Leaderboard

We are planning to add a leaderboard so you can compare your score with others. Your name is already collected when you play so it can be used for the leaderboard once that feature is available.
